A host of Scottish celebrities are supporting a cookbook which celebrates top quality Scottish ingredients and is raising money for two very important Scottish children’s charities – Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) and CHILDREN 1st.
The cookbook, a perfect festive gift, has been produced as part of a campaign, launched by Quality Meat Scotland (QMS), to highlight the value of friends and families making time to prepare good quality meals and sit down together, away from TV and mobile phones.
The high profile Scots who very kindly provided recipes for the “Round the Table” charity cookbook included Sir Alex Ferguson, Lorraine Kelly and Ewan McGregor, who also took time to sign some cookbooks when back home in Perthshire recently.
The actor, whose hit films have included Trainspotting, Star Wars and Moulin Rouge!, is a regular visitor to CHAS’s hospices and huge supporter of the work of the charity.
“I’m delighted to support the cookbook. The team at CHAS do a wonderful job and I hope the book will help to highlight the fantastic work they do as well as raising funds for the two charities,” said Ewan.
Jim McLaren, Chairman of QMS, said: “We are delighted that so many well-known Scots are supporting us with the charity cookbook. Ewan is a fantastic ambassador for Scotland and we very much appreciate the time he has taken out of his very busy schedule to support the charity cookbook.
“We hope this cookbook will also help to improve understanding of the quality assurance and traceability behind Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specially Selected Pork. It has to be the ideal present for Christmas 2013!”
From Lorraine Kelly’s delicious “Beef Stew” to Hardeep Singh Kohli’s “Pork Vindaloo” and Clare Grogan’s exotic “Moroccan Lamb with Apricots”, the cookbook is packed full of tasty, easy to cook family recipes made using Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb or Specially Selected Pork.
Priced at £5.00, with 100% of profits going to the charities, the hardback book is available to buy on-line by clicking here and at selected Waterstone’s stores. The cookbooks can also be purchased at selected Scotch Butchers Club shops and farm shops throughout Scotland.
