Lanarkshire Wholesaler Wins Scotch Brand Product of The Year

North Lanarkshire business PR Duff Limited (MacDuff 1980) has taken a top prize at this year’s Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards.

The business was awarded Scotch Brand Product of the Year for their MacDuff 1890 Native Breed Body Scotch Beef PGI. The prestigious award, sponsored by Quality Meat Scotland, recognises businesses in Scotland which are retailing Scotch Beef PGI, Scotch Lamb PGI or Specially Selected Pork in products of exceptional taste and quality.

PR Duff Limited which trade as MacDuff 1980, is a fourth-generation family firm based in Wishaw headed by father and son duo Rory and Andrew Duff. They pride their business on quality, traceability and personalised service, handpicking Scotch Beef PGI and Scotch Lamb PGI to meet customer specifications.

Andrew Duff, Director of MacDuff 1980 was delighted to be recognised with such prestigious award.

The awards, held at Edinburgh’s International Conference Centre, attracted more than 275 entries and consisted of 22 categories, showcasing the skill, innovation and enterprise of Scotland’s producers. Over 800 industry representatives attended the ceremony in a celebration of Scotland’s exceptional larder.

Recognised by both trade and consumers as an accolade of the highest quality, the awards are organised by Scotland Food & Drink and run in partnership with The Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS), with QMS as a category sponsor.
