Livestock farmers are invited to attend a free butchery demonstration, provided by Quality Meat Scotland (QMS), at the Scottish Small Holders and Growers Festival at Lanark Agricultural Centre on 27 September.
The demonstration will offer an opportunity for farmers to learn how to bone out a pork carcase and will showcase new butchery techniques and products.
“This butchery demonstration may be of interest to farmers who want to diversify into direct sales of meat to the consumer,” said Johnny Mackey, QMS Head of Industry Development.
“However, the session may also be of interest to those who have no retailing aspirations but are keen to have a better understanding of the type of carcase they are producing.”
The demonstration will start at 11.30am. For further information, please visit www.ssgf.uk
