Scottish butchers are gearing up for one of their busiest weeks of the year as customers descend on shops in search of the perfect Scotch Beef PGI steak for Valentine’s day.

Steak is the number one Valentine’s meal choice for Scots and members of the Scotch Butchers Club, run by Quality Meat Scotland (QMS), are ready to advise customers on the best cuts and serves to ensure everything goes smoothly on the big night.

Customers will also be able to find inspiration for their steaks by picking up one of the new Simply Steaks booklet and sauce recipe cards they will find in their local Scotch Butchers Club shop.

Containing advice on different types of steaks, how to cook your steaks to perfection using a simple touch test and a range of delicious recipes, the Simply Steaks booklet is an invaluable guide for those looking to rustle up a sizzling steak with a juicy, tender taste, this Valentine’s day.

Helping to beat the cold snap and turn up the heat this Valentine’s Day is Scotch Butchers Club member Yorkes of Dundee which prides itself on combining a traditional quality service and seizing new opportunities including developing a range of innovative products.
