Miss Scotland serves Scotch Lamb Broth to Glasgow shoppers at 'Happier Mealtimes’ Roadshow

The Happier Mealtimes roadshow was in Glasgow today (Wednesday 18th March), with reigning Miss Scotland, Ellie McKeating, joining in the fun and serving up some delicious Scotch Lamb broth.

Shoppers at Asda, Bishopbriggs, were treated to the warming dish as part of the Scottish Government campaign championing local, in season produce.

“I’ve loved helping out and spreading the message to residents in Glasgow that local, in season produce is tasty, delicious, and right on your doorstep! “ said Ellie McKeating.

“While working with Quality Meat Scotland I have been learning more about the provenance of the top quality food we produce in Scotland.

“I believe strongly in sourcing from Scotland’s abundant larders, and the lamb broth is a personal favourite of mine – it certainly got us all through the cold weather!”

Touring across Scotland, the roadshow is giving residents the chance to sample tasty in season recipes, including delicious rhubarb and apple muffins. They can also find out more about which foods are in season and recipe cards to recreate the dishes at home.

The roadshow is part of the Scottish Government’s Happier Mealtimes campaign. The campaign champions the eating and sourcing of fresh, in-season food, which is nutritious, tastes delicious and also has environmental benefits.

The four-week campaign also provides advice on how to find and use these foods, including easy to make, tasty recipes from some of Scotland’s leading chefs and food organisations.
