Miss UK and Hairy Bikers Cook up a storm in Dundee

Thousands of Tayside foodies flocked to this year’s Scotch Lamb-supported Dundee Flower and Food festival for a showcase of the best of Scotland’s produce. Scotch Lamb was one of the main sponsors at the three day festival, held over the weekend at Dundee’s Camperdown Country Park.

Quality Meat Scotland healthy eating ambassador, Miss UK and former Miss Scotland, Katharine Brown joined acclaimed TV chefs The Hairy Bikers during their Saturday demonstration to a packed out audience.

The two cooks, also known as Dave Myers and Simon King, have won the hearts of millions of television viewers with their combined love of motorcycling with down-to-earth cookery.

Miss Brown, who was brought up in Tayside, said she enjoyed meeting the thousands of visitors at the event as well as cooking up a storm with the tv duo.

Friday at the show marked the beginning of Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight and heralded the start of Scotch Lamb’s main season.

Thousands of visitors to the Quality Meat Scotland stand had the opportunity to gain some inspiration in the kitchen, taking away the latest recipes and guides to Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specially Selected Pork.

Nearly 200 local school children also learned about the importance of red meat in a healthy, balanced diet in sessions with our health and education coordinator.
