A new point of sale centre which will allow members of the Scotch Butchers Club to create their own branded point of sale items has been launched today (26 September 2014) by Quality Meat Scotland (QMS).
Items including a range of posters and leaflets will be available for butchers to individualise with their logo, text and details to help them promote Scotch Beef PGI, Scotch Lamb PGI and Specially Selected Pork to their customers.
All members of the Scotch Butchers Club are all quality independent butchers - mostly from Scotland but also elsewhere in the UK - who source their Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specially Selected Pork from approved suppliers.
According to QMS Head of Marketing, Laurent Vernet, the new centre will be a valuable, additional promotional tool for butchers.
“Scotch Butchers Club members currently receive promotional material from QMS and among the campaigns which have been very well received by butchers were marketing materials to encourage customers to rediscover steaks and to cook quick and easy Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specially Selected Pork summer recipes.
“The most recent campaign “Comfort Food”, which includes a range of tasty, hearty recipes created to inspire consumers as winter approaches, was launched by Miss Scotland, Ellie McKeating this week.
“The new point of sale centre will complement the existing promotional material, allowing members to promote Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specially Selected Pork in a way that’s specific to their business.”
Inverness butcher Duncan Fraser was one of the first users of the new point of sale centre and can see its advantages.
“By being able to personalise and print promotional materials, we can add in any special deals and offers we have on in any particular week. Excellent customer service through advice and recipes is an essential component of our business and if we can add in another promotional tool, it is always a bonus.”
Douglas Scott, SFMTA Chief Executive said: "Craft butchers lay great importance on sourcing the very best Scotch Beef PGI, Scotch Lamb PGI and Specially Selected Pork and this facility now enables them to communicate that to their customers in a very professional manner.
