Alan Clarke, Chief Executive of Quality Meat Scotland, said:
“We have noted Henry Dimbleby’s recommendations to the Westminster Government. In 2009 the Scottish Government published the first national food and drink policy, 'A Recipe for Success'. The policy outlined a vision for Scotland to become a ‘good food nation’ where people from every walk of life take pride and pleasure in, and benefit from, the food they produce, buy, cook, serve, and eat each day.
“Since its release, there has been a great deal of progress on the commitments within it. This includes work on bringing forward a Good Food Nation Bill and we want to ensure that the future development of our world class brands of Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specially Selected Pork feature in this. We look forward to working collaboratively with Scottish Government to progress the policy further and contribute to the development of the Bill.”
