The passion for great produce shown by Scottish farmers will be combined with two cooks with a passion for food at the Quality Meat Scotland Royal Highland Show stand this year.
Making his debut on the QMS stand, TV presenter, columnist and Celebrity Masterchef finalist Hardeep Singh Kohli will be demonstrating his skills with Scotland’s best produce with his own take on classic British and European dishes on Saturday.
He’ll be turning up the heat for the final day of the show with a ‘Spicy Sunday’ featuring both Indian and Asian curries for people to try out at home using the best quality Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specially Selected Pork.
Thursday and Friday will see the return of one of Scotland’s best loved chefs Lady Claire Macdonald, who will be in the QMS kitchen cooking recipes featuring beef, lamb, and pork as well as offal, and will also be sharing her encyclopaedic knowledge of the best in Scottish produce.
Celebrating the skill and artistry of Scotland’s best young butchers, the butchery demonstrations are making a welcome return to the QMS stand.
The demonstration of the expertsie involved in creating the eye-catching displays in butchers’ chill cabinets was a great success, and we’ve enlisted some of Scotland’s best butchers to come and impress the crowds.
The stand once again features a dedicated area for levy payers where they can come and chat to QMS staff and find out about developments in the organisation and industry, or just come in for a seat, a bite of lunch and a cup to tea.
One of the busiest areas of the stand last year was the educational zone, where people young and old could come to see the kinds of animals reared in Scotland, and learn more about our top quality farming standards.
Of course, the major draw for many will the rare opportunity to win an iconic and much coveted Scotch Beef teeshirt, now the height of show fashion.
