Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) has launched its own Facebook page.
The new page offers a simple, interactive opportunity for QMS to communicate with farmers and others involved in the Scottish red meat industry. It also encourages people to engage and interact with QMS in a brand new way.
QMS’s Facebook page provides easy access to press releases, events, photos, videos and a link to Enjoy Quality Meat, QMS’s consumer-facing Facebook page.
To celebrate the launch of the new page, QMS is giving farmers who are members of the QMS assurance scheme a chance to win a Scotch Assured farm sign, every day until the 1 October. Winners will be selected at random each day. Scotch Assured farm signs are also available to purchase from QMS.
“We are always looking for new ways to communicate with our stakeholders, levy payers and the public,” said Carol McLaren, QMS Head of Communications.
“Having successfully launched a Twitter feed and our ‘Moo Tube’ YouTube channel we are very aware of the potential of social media as an opportunity to interact with people in a relaxed way.
“We hope that people will visit and ‘Like’ our Facebook page and enjoy this new way of interacting with us.
“The page will include informal updates on our wide-ranging activities on behalf of the industry and a steady stream of great pictures from events such as monitor farm meetings and QMS workshops,” she added.
