Scotch Beef PGI is set to take centre stage at two prestigious London events in the coming months.
Around 250 discerning guests are set to attend the Food Management Industry Awards lunch and presentation ceremony at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington on 10 February where Scotch Beef PGI, supplied by ABP Perth, will be in pride of place as the main course.
The Awards, which are hailed as a premier event in the food calendar and this year will be hosted by chef, restaurateur and food writer Mark Hix, celebrate creativity, innovation and excellence in the British food industry.
Top food writers from throughout the UK will also enjoy top quality Scotch Beef PGI at the Guild of Food Writers Awards, taking place in June, which will be sponsored by Quality Meat Scotland (QMS).
The Guild of Food Writers Awards attract over 350 food journalists, bloggers, writers and authors and celebrate the very best of those who inform and inspire the public about great food.
Laurent Vernet, Head of Marketing with QMS, said that the events offer excellent opportunities to reinforce the global reputation for taste and quality which Scotch Beef has earned.
“Scotch Beef PGI is a jewel in Scotland’s rich food larder and, along with Scotch Lamb PGI, was among the first European red meat products to be granted the coveted PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) status in recognition of its quality and European gastronomic heritage.
“Serving Scotch Beef at these events also gives us an opportunity, on behalf of the Scottish red meat industry, to highlight the commitment of Scottish livestock farmers to producing a brand that offers world-leading levels of traceability, assurance and welfare standards.”
