Borders Farmer Benefits from Clean Grazing

Here's a great wee video insight into how Borders farmer Charley Walker has successfully introduced a clean grazing policy to reduce worm burden on his farm, Barnside near Duns. Use of a clean grazing system (an approach originally devised by SRUC) allows Charley and his wife Andrea to get all their lambs finished and off-farm by 1 November with just a single anthelmintic treatment at weaning. Other benefits include improvement in growth rates and reduced risk of the flock developing anthelmintic resistance. QMS, along with AHDB Beef & Lamb and HCC has produced a new publication - "Worm Control in Sheep" - which you can view online here http://ow.ly/VFcX30fXj8S or order free of charge by emailing info@qmscotland.co.uk
