Celebrity Chef Tells Highland Crowds Scotch is Best in the World

Charismatic celebrity cook, Lady Claire Macdonald, described the beef, lamb in pork produced in Scotland as “the best in the world” this morning (June 23rd) on the opening day of the Royal Highland Show.

A packed audience at Quality Meat Scotland’s cookery theatre gathered to watch the culinary magic of the irrepressible Lady Claire, who runs the Michelin-starred Kinloch Lodge restaurant and hotel on Skye with her husband and family.

As she prepared a selection of dishes with Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specially Selected Pork, Lady Claire told the crowds they have many, many reasons to be proud of the product produced on their doorstep.

“Here in Scotland we have got the best beef, lamb and pork in the world. Our cattle and sheep are mostly grass-fed and you can taste the difference – grass-fed meat is healthier too!” she said.

Joining Lady Claire on the Quality Meat Scotland stand today was Chris Capaldi, also known as Glen, the star of the Scotch Beef advertising campaigns.

Among the show-goers delighted to sample Scotch Beef dishes Lady Claire had prepared were Mrs Hannah Scott and Miss Helen Duff, from Cardenden in Fife (pictured).
