Sheep farming families throughout Scotland are being urged to get behind Quality Meat Scotland’s Scotch Lamb campaign and help spread the word about the simplicity and versatility of cooking with Scotch Lamb PGI.
QMS is offering a limited number of free Scotch “Lambassador” kits to farming families to encourage them to cook Scotch Lamb dishes for friends and neighbours to show exactly how easy lamb is to cook as well as being delicious to eat.
“As the people who dedicate their lives to farming top quality lamb, Scottish sheep farming families are in a very strong position to share their enthusiasm with others about the wonderful, natural, quality assured lamb they produce,” said Carol McLaren, Head of Communications with QMS.
“Our farmers are also very aware of the need to encourage more Scots to enjoy Scotch Lamb and keen to help encourage many more consumers to cook with locally produced lamb.
“If Scotland’s sheep farming families were each to cook a Scotch Lamb meal for non-farming friends, family or neighbours to inspire them how easy and quick it is for a tasty, nutritious meal - it could really help to get the message out there,” said Carol McLaren, Head of Communications with QMS.
The free “Lambassador” kits include a Scotch Lamb apron, a new “Simply Delicious” design Scotch Lamb t-shirt, a copy of QMS’s new Guide to Scotch Lamb which features a collection of simple, speedy recipes.
The kits will be given to farmers who are members of QMS’s quality assurance scheme on a first come first served basis and can be requested via QMS’s Facebook page or by calling QMS on 0131 472 4040 or emailing info@qmscotland.co.uk
Farmers who receive the kits will also be encouraged to share the Scotch Lamb dishes they prepare – and how easy they are to cook for friends, neighbours and family – with QMS for use via social media to help spread the word.
