Scottish singer and presenter Michelle McManus launched a selection of tasty new Specially Selected Pork recipes at the Royal Highland Show today (Thursday June 23rd).
The quick and easy to cook recipes have been produced as part of the on-going “Do More with Pork” campaign run by Quality Meat Scotland.
Ms McManus, who shot to stardom after winning ITV’s Pop Idol, was joined by Aberdeenshire pig farmer, Philip Sleigh, to cook up some pork tikka kebabs at the show.
As part of Quality Meat Scotland’s (QMS) campaign to showcase the quality, affordability and versatility of Specially Selected Pork, the Scottish star encouraged visitors to rediscover how simple and delicious quality assured pork from Scotland is.
“Scottish pig farmers take great pride in the pork they produce and it’s great to have Michelle’s support as part of the current campaign,” said Mr Sleigh, who runs 400 sows near Inverurie.
“The Specially Selected Pork logo offers consumers assurance, not only that the meat is high quality, but also that the animals have been reared to health and welfare standards approved by the Scottish SPCA.”
Graeme Sharp, marketing executive at QMS, added: “This year’s campaign is very much building on the 42% brand recognition we already have with Scottish shoppers.
“The campaign is also highlighting the versatility of the product, which is perfect for both mid-week meals and budget-friendly barbecues and this latest collection of recipes profiles some examples of simple, tasty pork dishes for all the family.”
