The team at an award-winning Inverness-shire butchers has welcomed a very important helper as they gear up to the busy festive period.
Fergus Ewing, Cabinet Secretary for Rural Economy and Connectivity, visited butchers Duncan Fraser & Son where he met with owners William and Duncan Fraser and their employees, before lending a hand behind the butcher’s counter.
Mr Ewing, who is also MSP for Inverness and Nairn, heard about their business and how the team really strive to deliver excellent quality, innovative products to customers, year-round.
The butchers are among the 250 members of the Scotch Butchers Club, run by Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) and are committed to sourcing top quality Scotch Beef PGI, Scotch Lamb PGI and Specially Selected Pork from approved suppliers who adhere to the quality standards required by Quality Meat Scotland’s Quality Assurance Scheme.
Last month, Duncan Fraser & Son were awarded the Scotch Lamb Consumer Choice Award for their lamb & mint pie, as part of the inaugural Scotch Lamb Butcher of the Year awards.
Cabinet Secretary for the Rural Economy and Connectivity Fergus Ewing said: “At this busy time of year I have to thank Duncan Fraser & Sons for taking the time to show me the first class service they provide to local people, providing quality meats including their award winning lamb pies.
“I would encourage all shoppers at this time of the year to support the quality Scotch brand, and to have Scotch Beef, or Scotch lamb on the menu over the festive season.”
