A strong line-up of leaders from Scotland’s food and drink industry are set to speak at a high-profile industry conference being held at The Edinburgh International Conference Centre on Tuesday 4th September.
The Scotsman conference “Beyond Brexit: Future-proofing food and drink in Scotland” will examine how the industry can deliver success beyond Brexit ensuring continued growth in domestic and global markets.
Conference delegates will hear from industry leaders including Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) Chairman Jim McLaren, Karen Betts of the Scotch Whisky Association, Julie Hesketh-Laird from Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation, James Withers, Chief Executive of Scotland Food and Drink and Fergus Ewing, Cabinet Secretary for the Rural Economy.
“Food and drink is an outstanding Scottish success story but with the great uncertainty surrounding the post-Brexit landscape, it is essential that we future-proof the sector which is worth £15 billion annually to Scotland and directly employs around 120,000 people,” said Mr McLaren.
“With so many unknowns ahead, forward planning can sometimes seem particularly daunting. However, with challenges come opportunities and there are lots of proactive steps our industry can be taking in the coming months to take advantage of growing prospects.”
The “Beyond Brexit: Future-proofing food and drink in Scotland” conference will be held on 4th September from 9.30am – 2pm at EICC. Tickets are priced at £79 which includes refreshments, a networking brunch and access to post conference reports.
