At this year’s Royal Highland Show, Quality Meat Scotland raised an incredible £4,152 for agricultural charity RSABI.
In support of the rural charity, QMS raised funds through the sales of their renowned Royal Highland Show T-shirts in addition to a Make It Incredible Ultra Marathon, which saw the QMS team and RHS attendees walking on a treadmill throughout the duration of the show in support of RSABI’s #keepwalking initiative.
RSABI offers practical, emotional and financial support to all people involved in the Scottish agricultural industry, ranging from counselling through to one-off payments for essential household items.
Presenting a cheque to the charity, Sarah Millar, Chief Executive of Quality Meat Scotland, said: “I am delighted to present this cheque to the fantastic team at RSABI who share our belief that the wellbeing of our farmers and crofters is first and foremost key to the success of our industry.
“Our partnership with RSABI is invaluable due to the vital and pragmatic support, advice and hope they provide for farming families when they need it most. It is essential organisations in the industry, and the wider agricultural community, support each other in these trying times in particular.”
Carol McLaren, Chief Executive at RSABI, said: “On behalf of all the team at RSABI, we are extremely grateful to QMS for choosing again to support RSABI through the sales of Royal Highland Show T-shirts and the Make It Incredible Ultra Marathon.
“The significant sum raised will support farming families in Scottish agriculture and is more important than ever. With many people worried about issues facing the industry, and general cost of living increases, we’re encouraging anyone who is concerned or finding things difficult to contact us. Our staff are always friendly and professional, and all support is confidential.
