Scottish Craft Butchers Extra Mile Awards - Bryan Beveridge Quality Butchers

Mark Boyd from Bryan Beveridge Quality Butchers in Dunfermline has been recognised for his outstanding customer service skills in the Scottish Craft Butchers Extra Mile Award after learning sign language to help communicate with deaf customers coming into the shop.

The award, sponsored by @QualityMeatScotland's Scotch Butchers Club, plays a valuable role in recognising the efforts of young people to develop their skills throughout their careers, as well as those who offer support along the way.

The presentation of the awards took place at the AGM of the Scottish Craft Butchers on Sunday 27th November in Dunfermline. Chief Executive of QMS, Sarah Millar, was one of the key speakers at the event alongside NFU's president, Martin Kennedy, and George Deman, President of National Craft Butchers.

Sarah Millar, Chief Executive of Quality Meat Scotland, commented: “We were thrilled to support the Scottish Craft Butchers Extra Mile Award this year, and our congratulations go to all the winners and finalists. The Extra Mile award plays a valuable role in recognising young people's skills and those who have "gone the extra mile" in their own progression, provided excellent customer service, or in any other way that has benefited the business they work for. Mark went above and beyond to not only learn sign language to help communicate with his customers, but to also act as an ambassador for others looking to do the same. This dedication to learning sign language is a huge achievement that fully goes ‘the extra mile’."
