Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) is reminding local organisations and communities across Scotland about its £50,000 Community Marketing Fund resource set up earlier this year to support projects and events that educate consumers about the unique characteristics and benefits of choosing renowned Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb, and Specially Selected Pork brands.
Since its inception, the Community Marketing Fund has already made a positive impact by sponsoring a wide range of initiatives Scotland-wide. Among these, QMS provided funding for the cookery demonstration area at the Turriff Show which provided a strong platform to showcase the brands in action. Another highlight was supporting a fine dining experience organised by The Usual Place in Dumfries. Staging this event - featuring a butchery demonstration and showcasing Scotch produce - raised vital funds for a local charity that helps young disabled people find employment in hospitality.
Emma Heath, QMS’s Director of Marketing, said: “ At Quality Meat Scotland, we're committed to supporting initiatives that promote our red meat brands within the industry and in communities across the length and breadth of Scotland. This new fund aims to make asking us for help simpler, with an easy application form and clear guidelines.”
QMS also provided funding and sponsorship to promote Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specially Selected Pork to younger generations at the Tarland Show. The Scottish Texel Breeders Club also received support for workshops aimed at building young breeders' skills, featuring an outstanding butchery demonstration from Strachan’s Craft Butchery, members of the QMS-run Scotch Butchers Club. Feedback showed that participants found this demonstration particularly interesting and engaging.
Caroline Hamilton from the Scottish Texel Breeders Club commented: “The butchery demonstration provided by QMS was excellent and really interesting. The support from QMS has been invaluable in helping us engage the next generation of breeders. The workshops not only provided essential skills but also created enthusiasm around our produce.”
Emma Heath particularly encourages individuals and organisations involved in grassroots initiatives where there is a focus on red meat to apply using the short and simple application form, stating: “Whether you're aiming to enhance awareness, education, or engagement, we welcome applications across a diverse mix of activities and locations. It might simply be giving some aprons for a charity cook-off ,providing burgers for a fundraising barbeque or a prize for a local sheep show. It’s open to anyone and everyone aiming to enhance awareness and engagement with the red meat industry in Scotland.”
While QMS cannot guarantee financial support for every initiative, the team will review and acknowledge all submissions and respond as quickly as possible. Simply fill in the form giving as much notice as possible, and we’ll be in touch. For more information and to apply, please visit: QMS Community Marketing Fund.
