Review of our Cattle & Sheep Standards

Standard Setting Process

Building on the success of the 2022 industry roadshows, we have enhanced our standard setting process to ensure greater transparency and collaboration. As part of this improvement, a new step has been introduced where a comprehensive summary of proposed changes, along with the underlying rationale, will be circulated to all members. We actively encourage and value your feedback during this crucial stage.

Subsequently, the Standards Setting Board (SSB) will  review the feedback received and make informed decisions to either modify, remove, or amend proposed changes before they are officially implemented. Members will also recieve the standards  three months in advance of their official implementation date.

This improved process shows we're committed to making standard-setting more open and responsive. It means our members' input helps keep improving industry standards all the time.

The full review of our Cattle & Sheep Standards is due to take place in February 2024. As a valued member we would like to hear your views.

We must ensure our standards are relevant, legislatively accurate, practically progressive and achievable, while recognising they are publicly available documents which can be viewed by retailers, consumers, other assurance scheme owners and members of the public.
