QMS announces additional Market visits following successful first round

Following the success of our recent visits to livestock marts across Scotland, Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) is pleased to announce the addition of three more dates and locations. These events provide an invaluable opportunity for farmers, auctioneers, and other industry professionals to engage directly with the QMS team and learn more about our Quality Assurance Schemes.

Building on the positive feedback, QMS is extending its series of market visits to ensure that even more stakeholders can benefit from this face-to-face engagement across the country. We invite you to come and speak to us at the following new dates and locations this month:

  • 15 October 2024 – Lanark Agricultural Centre
  • 17 October 2024 – Ayr Livestock Auction Market
  • 30 October 2024 – Stirling Agricultural Centre

Kathryn Kerr, Head of Brands Integrity at QMS, said: “We have already visited key locations including Stirling, Dingwall, Huntly, and Kirkwall, where attendees were able to meet with QMS representatives, ask questions, and discuss our assurance schemes. We’ve had great engagement during our previous market visits, and we’re excited to add these new dates to continue connecting with farmers and industry stakeholders across the country. These visits are an excellent opportunity for direct interaction, allowing us to listen to feedback and provide support on the ground.

“Whether you're already a QMS member or interested in learning more about what we do, we encourage you to stop by, bring your questions, and say hello. Additionally, an assessor from our certification body, Food Integrity Assurance (FIA), will be present to address any queries related to the assessment or certification process.”
