Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) is set to showcase Scotland’s red meat sector at SIAL Paris 2026, one of the world’s premier food and beverage trade shows, taking place from 17–21 October. Red meat is a cornerstone of the Scottish economy and plays a vital role in international trade. QMS is committed to highlighting the exceptional quality and sustainability credentials of Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Prime Scottish Pork on this global stage.
SIAL Paris attracts over 8,000 exhibitors from 130 countries and is expected to welcome more than 295,000 trade visitors from over 200 countries. As the world’s largest food exhibition, the event will showcase more than 400,000 food products, creating a major platform for global buyers, traders and food industry leaders.
Tom Gibson, Business Development Director at QMS, said: “Red meat plays a crucial role in the Scottish economy, supporting local farmers, producers, processors and communities. Our presence at SIAL Paris aims to underline the importance of this sector while promoting the quality, provenance and sustainability credentials that make Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Prime Scottish Pork stand out in premium markets across Europe and beyond.
“Engaging in international events like SIAL Paris opens doors to significant business opportunities and supports the long-term growth of Scotland’s red meat sector. This participation is a key part of our strategy to make Scotland the choice for premium red meat, enhancing our market presence through international exports and building valuable connections in the global marketplace.”
Scottish red meat exporters will be represented on the QMS flagship stand, located in Hall 6, stand H189, as well as wholesalers looking to export for the first time.
They will be joined by key QMS staff who will promote the Scottish red meat industry to global buyers. Visitors to the QMS stand will have the opportunity to experience the exceptional quality of Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Prime Scottish Pork, showcased through innovative recipe samples prepared by chefs Eadie Manson and Scott Lyall, supported by Fife College students Hollyanna Howieson and Alexander Tutaj.
Agricultural Minister Jim Fairlie said: “Scotland’s red meat industry is a cornerstone of our rural economy, supporting jobs, businesses and communities the length and breadth of the country. The provenance of Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Prime Scottish Pork is rightly recognised internationally for high standards of animal welfare and sustainability.
“Events such as SIAL provide an invaluable platform to showcase Scottish produce to key buyers from across the globe. The work that QMS undertakes to promote our red meat sector and connect Scottish businesses with international markets is vital in helping the industry grow.
“We are unequivocal in our support for Scotland’s farmers and red meat sector, and I look forward to continuing to work with QMS to champion Scotland’s world-class produce.”
