Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) is calling on communities, schools, and local organisations across Scotland to apply for its £50,000 Community Marketing Fund. The fund supports projects that raise awareness of the unique qualities and benefits of Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb, and Specially Selected Pork, helping local initiatives engage, educate, and inspire.
Since the start of the year, the fund has already made a real impact across Scotland. Highlights include the Academy Champions Day at Boroughmuir Rugby Football Club Youth Academy, where young athletes discovered how red meat can support their nutrition and performance. At Slow Food Edinburgh, QMS supported ‘Beyond the Chop: A Butchery Demonstration on Lesser-Known Cuts of Lamb’, giving the public a hands-on experience with Scotch Lamb. The fund also helped the Orkney Food, Farming and Countryside Learning Day to educate pupils about the farm to fork journey and provided support for a cookery stand at the Turriff Show, showcasing Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb, and Specially Selected Pork to visitors.
Emma Heath, QMS Director of Marketing, said: "At Quality Meat Scotland, we’re committed to supporting initiatives that promote our red meat brands within the industry and in communities across Scotland. The Community Marketing Fund is designed to make it easy for groups or individuals to bring projects to life, whether it’s a charity cook-off, a butchery demonstration, or a local show. We welcome applications across a wide range of activities and locations, as long as the focus is on educating and engaging communities about our red meat brands."
Applications are open to individuals, businesses, organisations, or charities linked to the Scottish red meat supply chain, including show societies. There’s no maximum award limit, but funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis from the total pot. Applications are reviewed at the end of each month and assessed on merit, with a focus on impact, reach, and return on investment. Applicants can expect to hear back within six weeks.
While QMS cannot guarantee support for every project, all applications will be reviewed promptly. Interested groups are encouraged to apply early using the simple online form.
