Emma Heath, Director of Marketing at Quality Meat Scotland
What a weekend! From 6–8 June, SWG3 was packed with food lovers and BBQ fans, all gathered to celebrate the unbeatable combination of meat and fire at Meatopia Glasgow 2025.
Under our ‘Make it Scotch’ brands, Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) were headline sponsors of The Cutting Stage, where the spotlight was firmly on Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb, and Specially Selected Pork. Across three days, a stellar line-up of chefs and butchers delivered high-energy demos and mouth-watering dishes. From Fraser Cameron (The Globe Inn), Orry Shand (National Chef of the Year), and Andrew Toogood (Porter and Rye), to butchery masters Jordan Hanley, Sean Graham, and Karl Hearton – the stage was a true celebration of Scottish skill and produce. Our very own Gordon Newlands, Brand Development Manager, also made an appearance with his usual trademark patter and knife skills.
The event wasn’t just about great food. It was a powerful platform to show why Scotland leads the way in quality red meat. Through passionate industry ambassadors, the story behind the famous blue labels came to life – highlighting the care, integrity, and expertise behind every cut.
At the QMS pop-up, the fun continued with the High Steaks quiz – a lively test of red meat knowledge that aimed to educate people on what sets Scotch apart, with the chance to win some great prizes along the way. The atmosphere was buzzing with the head-to-head challenge getting very competitive, and was a great way to interact with a captive audience.
Meatopia gave us a brilliant chance to connect with consumers in a genuine, face-to-face way. Real chefs and butchers shared their own experiences, helping reinforce the value of choosing locally sourced meat – and why it matters. And the sun even shone for some of the time....!
Thanks to everyone who stopped by, joined a demo, or took part. The energy, passion, and interest throughout the weekend made this event one to remember.
By showing up at standout events like Meatopia, Scotland’s reputation as the home of premium red meat continues to grow – backed by real stories, real people, and real quality.
Because once you know what makes Scotch special – why would you choose anything else?
